Privacy Policy

Effective October 13, 2026. This policy explains what information Cedar Rock IT collects when you use cedarrockit.com, contact us, become a client, or opt in to text messages, and how we handle it.

Cedar Rock IT LLC ("Cedar Rock IT", "we", "us") is a managed IT services provider at 15 Beverly Rd, Greenville, SC 29609. We only collect the information we need to answer your enquiry, deliver the services you ask for, and run this website. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us. When you fill in a contact, assessment, quote or support ticket form, or email, call or text us, we collect what you provide: typically your name, business name, email address, phone number, and the details of your request. Support tickets may include screenshots you choose to attach and the name of the computer or device involved.

Information from providing services. If your business becomes a client, we hold the account, device and network information needed to support you, as described in your service agreement.

Information collected automatically. Our website records standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type, pages visited and the campaign link that brought you here. See Cookies and analytics below.

Mobile opt-in information. If you opt in to receive text messages from us, we record your mobile number, the date and method of your consent, and your message preferences.

2. How we use it

  • To respond to your enquiry, prepare a quote or assessment, and resolve support tickets.
  • To deliver, bill for and improve the services you have engaged us for.
  • To send service communications such as appointment confirmations, ticket updates, outage notices and account notices, by the channels you have agreed to.
  • To protect our website and forms from spam and abuse (see Cookies and analytics).
  • To understand which pages and campaigns bring visitors to the site, using aggregate analytics.
  • To meet legal, accounting and contractual obligations.

3. Text messaging (SMS)

Cedar Rock IT uses text messaging to communicate with clients who have asked us to. By checking the text message box when opening a support ticket and replying START to our confirmation text, or by texting ALERTS to (864) XXX‑XXXX and replying YES, you agree to receive text messages from Cedar Rock IT at that number. These are the terms of our text messaging program.

  • What we send. Service messages for current Cedar Rock IT clients: support ticket updates, site-visit scheduling, system health alerts for your managed systems (such as a firewall or server going offline), and replies to your questions.
  • Message frequency. Ticket updates: frequency varies with ticket activity, typically 4–5 messages per ticket. Health alerts: frequency varies based on system events.
  • Message and data rates may apply. Your mobile carrier's standard messaging and data charges apply to messages you send and receive.
  • Opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. You will receive one final message confirming that you have been unsubscribed, and we will not send further texts unless you opt in again.
  • For help, reply HELP to any message, call (864) 660‑3112, or email contact@cedarrockit.com.
  • Consent is not a condition of purchase. You can use all of our services without agreeing to receive text messages.
  • Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Mobile information is never shared for marketing. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be sold, rented, released, transferred or shared with any third party, affiliate or lead generator. The limited sharing described in the next section (for example, the messaging platform that transmits our texts) is solely to deliver the messages you have asked for.

4. Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We do not share your information, including your mobile number and text messaging opt-in consent, with third parties, affiliates or lead generators for their marketing or promotional purposes. We share personal information only in these limited cases:

  • Service providers that process information on our behalf and only on our instructions, such as our email delivery provider, business text messaging platform, helpdesk and ticketing system, website hosting and bot protection (Cloudflare), analytics (Google Analytics), accounting and billing systems, and the remote monitoring and management tools we use to support clients. These providers are contractually prohibited from using your information for any other purpose.
  • Legal requirements, when disclosure is required by law, subpoena or court order, or to protect the rights, property or safety of Cedar Rock IT, our clients or others.
  • Business transfers, if Cedar Rock IT is sold or merged, in which case this policy will continue to apply to the information transferred.

All categories of personal information above exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent, which are not shared with any third party for any purpose other than sending you the messages you have requested.

5. Cookies and analytics

This website uses Google Analytics 4 to measure traffic and understand which pages and campaigns bring visitors to the site. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects your IP address, device and browser information, and the pages you view. We use this data in aggregate; it is not used to identify you personally. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser.

Our forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a submission comes from a person and not a bot. Turnstile may process technical information about your browser and connection for that purpose. We also limit the number of form submissions per IP address to prevent abuse.

If you arrive from a campaign link, the site remembers the campaign tags in your browser for the rest of your visit so we know which mailer or ad you responded to. This is stored in session storage and cleared when you close the browser.

6. Retention and security

We keep enquiry and ticket information for as long as needed to handle your request and for a reasonable period afterwards for our records. Client account information is retained for the length of the service relationship and as required by law and accounting rules. Text messaging opt-in and opt-out records are kept as long as necessary to honor your preferences and demonstrate consent.

We protect information with access controls, encryption in transit, multi-factor authentication on our systems and the security practices we recommend to our own clients. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your choices

  • Text messages: reply STOP at any time to opt out, or HELP for help.
  • Email: any marketing email we send includes an unsubscribe link. Service emails about an open ticket or your account will continue while you are a client.
  • Access, correction and deletion: you can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, subject to our legal and contractual obligations. Contact us using the details below and we will respond within 30 days.
  • Cookies: see Cookies and analytics above.

We do not discriminate against anyone for exercising these choices.

8. Children

Our services are for businesses. This website is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top shows when it was last changed. Material changes will be posted on this page, and where appropriate we will notify clients directly.
